Murray’s purebred Angus herd was the base for our 300 head of red and black cows. Herd bulls have been purchased on three occasions from Beckton Stock Farms in Wyoming. Their un-pampered, moderate framed cow herd is the kind that thrives in our environment.  We have built our red cow herd around the daughters of these bulls. 

The black herd began by sourcing chosen females from a few dispersals and bulls that were sound footed, easy keeping and good natured. We use A.I. when there is sufficient pasture near our A.I. facilities to handle about 100 head of females.  All other cows and heifers are pasture bred to herd bulls that have been purchased and some of our own bulls.
